People Finder Online - How People Finder Online Sites Just Don't Stack Up
66While planning our twenty year High School reunion, I thought that I would use a people finder online to find the alumni scattered across the US. I had seen advertisements for these person search services many times while surfing on the Internet. What I didn't realize, was that finding a useful service and then actually using it would be more difficult than I had thought.
I had always wanted to use one of these search sites to find a few friends that I had lost touch with. Now I finally had the change to actually sit down and put one to use. Unfortunately, I was very disapointed in my goal to help me find a people locator site that would help me conduct my amatuer investigations.
I started looking for a service to use by searching the three major search engines for a good site to use. I was bombarded by hundreds of choices to choice from. These ranged from background checks to so called free people searches. I put aside a few hours and checked out around 20 of the more professional looking service that I had found.
All of the people finder services that I had found wanted anywhere from $15 - $30 to get access to their data. I went ahead and pluncked down $25 for a person search site that looked very promising. I logged into the site and began my search only to find that most of the data that I recieved was easily obtained from free sites on the web.
After my disapointing search for a person search service, I decided to contact a friend that has been a Private Detective for almost 15 years. I explained to him my situation with my reunion and my ordeal trying to find a search service to find my classmates.
My friend laughed and asked me why I didn't come to him first. He then logged on his computer and showed me a couple of sites that I didn't even know existed. These sites had civil, criminal, traffic and even marriage and divorce records. Everything I needed to start my reunion search was right there in front of my eyes.
I discovered that many local counties provide free records sites. These record sites allow anyone to log in and search for many types of public records by name. This service was amazing and allowed me to have access to information as if I was standing in the records vault at the local courhouse.
So if you are wanting to use the Internet to find someone, call your local courthouse and ask them if they provide a public records website to the public. Many local governments even allow access for absolutely free. Use my hours of research, I have put into finding a people finder online. Use your local public records site and find anyone!
